"Kangal Hot Springs with Fish"

The famous Kangal Hot Springs are 98 km from Sivas via the town of Kangal and 15 km from the centre of Kangal.

Capacity

These thermal springs come from five different sources and the fish come directly from the springs into the pool. Spring water flows at 40 litres per second with a daily capacity, of 760 people.

Physio-Chemical Characteristics and Indications

The thermal water is 36 C (96 F) with a pH of 7.3 and contains bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium sulphate, chlorine, sodium and magnesium. Carbon dioxide gas is present and is crucial in curing skin diseases, rheumatism and neurological disorders. The fish present in the water simply suck out the diseased areas in a curettage-like fashion. Many, doctors and clinics throughout Turkey have recommended their patients try, the Kangal thermal waters as a curative.

Treatments and Accommodations

During the summer season at this centre, there are plenty of tents, bungalows and other types of accommodations. There is also a one star hotel at the centre with 81 rooms and 70 beds. New facilities are being planned for this thermal centre in the future.


 

1-  The Therapy must continue for 21 days ; a stay of 8 hours a day in the pool must be observed
2-  Drink at least 3 glasses of healing water before breakfast.
3-  Enter in the pool after breakfast.
4-  Therapy starts trough healing water rich in minerals and healing fishes.
5-  The healing  fish, unique in the world, live at the a water temperature of 37°C (scientifically no fish can live in water with temperature exceeding 28°C).There are 3 different types of this fish.
6-  Along with the healing water containing the element selenium (known to be most effective in curing dermatological diseases) the healing fish start the healing process.
7-  Enter the pool twice a day, staying in the water for eight hours in total.
8-  No alcohol shold be taken during therapy.
9-  No medicine against psoriasis shold be taken during the cure.
10-Psoriasis affected patients observing these rules leave the springs with total healing.
Note: The concentration of selenium, the most friendly  elemnt for the skin, is 1g per liter.
