 Day 1: Bucharest – Old Valley – Cisnadie & Cisnadioara – Sibiu

Departure from Bucharest. We will drive on Olt Valley, towards Sibiu. We will make the first stop on the bank of Olt River, and visit a beautiful and traditional orthodox monastery Turnu. The church was built around the XVII th century and it is an oasis of peacefulness at the foot of the mountains, in Cozia Natural Park. On the way to Sibiu we will visit two beautiful villages, Cisnadie and Cisnadioara, once inhabited by the German population. Now, one can see the strong German influences in the construction of the houses and the beautiful fortified churches. In the evening we will arrive in Sibiu. Overnight in Sibiu.


Day 2: Sibiu – Alba Iulia

Enjoy a relaxing day visiting the beautiful city. The city tour will take us to the famous Liar’s Bridge,The Brukenthal MuseumThe Small SquareThe Big SquareThe Prisoner’s Well, to name just a few attractions. In the afternoon we will drive to Sibiel, 20 km from Sibiu, and visit the Glass Icons Museum, a very famous local attraction. From Sibiel we will go to Alba Iulia (The White Citadel), the place where King Ferdinand and Queen Mary were crowned in 1922. We will visit the citadel and walk on the surrounding alleys. Overnight in Alba Iulia.


Day 3:  Alba-Iulia – Turda

After a good breakfast and a strong coffee, we will leave towards Turda. Do you remember Frank Herbert’s Dune? Well, the interior of the saltmine will remind you of a science fiction movie! But…before we get to Turda, the guide will show you an amazing area in Trascau Mountains, with a stunning landscape! Now it is time to take out the cameras and use them! The area is a paradise for photography enthusiasts. After this short break we will continue our journey to Turda. We will visit the saltmine and in the evening we will stop in the city. Overnight in Turda.


Day 4: Trascau Mountains – Hunedoara

From Turda we will drive to Hunedoara city. It is a 4 hours drive that will take us through the magic landscapes of Trascau Mountains. The drive is very scenic and along the way we will make stops in beautiful mountain villages and contemplate the surroundings. Overnight in Hunedoara.


Day 5: Hunedoara – Carta

Visit at Huniad Castle. This is an impressive piece of architecture, built in the gothic style, that goes back to the XIV th century. There are a few legends that are connected to this place, and perhaps the most notorious is the one with the Raven…But you will learn more when you get there! After we leave Hunedoara we will drive for approximate 2 hours to Carta, a small and very pitoresque village, home of a notorious Cistercian Abbey. A very nice and interesting place. Overnight in Cartisoara.


Day 6: Brasov

From Carta we will drive towards Brasov, and we will make a first stop at Sambata de sus Monastery, an oasis of quietness and peacefulness. From Sambata we will drive straight to Brasov. Overnight in Brasov.


Day 7: Brasov – Bucharest

The day starts with a city tour and it includes highlights like: Ecaterina’s Gate, The Narrow Street (the narrowest street in Europe), and a walk along the old fortress of the city. In the afternoon, after a good meal, we will drive back to Bucharest.

End of program.
