Discovery Cruise
 FRIDAY:
PIRAEUS - MYKONOS
Morning transfer to the port of Piraeus for the 3-day Cruise
to the Greek Isles and Turkey. Embarkation and sail for Mykonos
at 11:00 a.m. Call at Mykonos at 6:00 p.m. It combines international
jet-set atmosphere and a very active night-life. Stroll at
leisure through the white-washed, flower-decked alleyways
to the sculpture church of Paraportiani or along the water-front
of ĞLittle Veniceğ to the well-known windmills. Sail for Rhodes
at 10:00 p.m.
SATURDAY:
RHODES
In the morning call at Rhodes at 10:00 a.m. This stronghold
was built by a Crusading Order that originated from Palestine.
Our optional half-day excursion takes us to visit the Temple
of Athena on the majestic rocky Acropolis of Lindos, with
the blue Aegean Sea beneath it and the sophisticated, white-washed
artists’ colony at its foot. A local tradition held here has
the Apostle Paul’s ship arrive in the small harbor. Afternoon
free in Rhodes. Stroll around the medieval walled city, enjoy
the cosmopolitan atmosphere from one of the elegant cafes
in the marina. Sail for Kusadasi at 7:00 p.m.
SUNDAY:
KUSADASI/EPHESUS - PATMOS
At 7:00 a.m. call at Kusadasi Turkey, starting point for our
optional excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus. The Apostle
Paul preached to the Ephesians and lived there for three years.
We tour the spectacular ruins where excavations still continue
in this once great and important city, which was founded in
the 10th c. BC. Walk through history along marble streets
lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths
of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian
and the Theater. Then we return to Kusadasi for some shopping
before sailing for Patmos Greece at noon. At 4:00 in the afternoon
we arrive at this beautiful rocky island where the exiled
Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation. We have an optional
tour: we drive up to the Monastery of St. John the Evangelist
where we have a wonderful view of the island. We also visit
the Grotto of the Revelation. After some free time for browsing,
return to the ship for an evening sailing to Piraeus at 7:00
p.m.

PIRAEUS
At 7:00 a.m. arrive at Piraeus. Disembarkation after breakfast.
